How I typically feel after the holidays. Naptime must increase exponentially for at least two weeks after or productivity goes waaay down.
Despite it being a rather greyish green Christmas I had an awesome time over the past couple weeks. Some of my holiday highlights were going ice skating at Nathan Phillips Square, drinking lots of eggnog, attempting to make mulled wine (and succeeding — it’s actually way easier than it sounds: just pour red wine in a pot, heat it up, add some spices and fruit, sweeten it with honey or juice and voila!), baking lots of yummy treats, hanging with my friends and fam, and of course sharing a little bubbly and then some on NYE with friends.
Oh yeah, New Years! Can you believe we’re already three days into 2015? When did the holidays come and go? Where did the last year go?
No matter how fast it went, I think this past year was not too shabby! I did a bit of traveling, made some big accomplishments in my career, have been cooking more and making more healthy choices, I did a little a lot *ahem* I did some shopping, made a bunch of new friends, and found that, overall, there was a lot to be happy for and celebrate.
Of course it goes without saying that there were quite a few not-so-great things too… but I’m not going to dwell on those parts. Stuff happened and I’ve learned from my experiences (or the experiences of others in some cases) and worked really hard to move on with my life. I like to think I’m a stronger and ultimately happier person for it. I mean, what better way to feel a huge sense of accomplishment than knowing you have the strength to get back on your feet after something really crappy has happened to you? I for one feel pretty darn good.
But enough of that. I made a collage from photos I posted on Instagram over the past twelve months so instead of going on and on about what I did I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.
So there you have it, my year in a nutshell.
Feel free to follow me on Instagram if you want to see what I’ll get up to this year outside of the blog. Hope you had a happy holidays and that your new year is off to a great start!
