Sorry for the radio silence, friends! My schedule has been pretty hectic as of late. Between new developments at work, helping my sister find a dress and other (surprisingly stressful) wedding-y things, friends visiting from out of town, visiting other friends in other towns, planning a trip in January, and just thinking about all the upcoming xmas festivities and shopping I need to do (eep), I’ve been finding it difficult to find the time and mental energy to sit down and watch TV, let alone update the blog on a regular basis.
It was making me sad, and to be honest a little grumpy, so today I made a point of setting up a coffee date with the guy I’ve been kinda seeing on the condition that we both get some work done there first and then go see a movie. Thankfully he had some work to do as well or it would be really awkward right about now. I’m currently sitting across from him as I write this post and he’s working on his own thing… and I think we’re both making other customers mad because it’s busy and we’re taking up a bunch of space with our laptops. (Dear customers at Dark Horse, sorry, I’m not sorry! PS Dear Dark Horse, I love your chai lattes. Please don’t change a thing about them. <3 Carla).
It may be a weird way to hang out but so far it’s working, ’cause here I am!
Anyway. I won’t bore you with the work or personal stuff because it’s well, kinda boring. I would much rather tell you guys about the trip I’m planning — in January I’m going to South America for a few weeks. Yay! Specifically Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. A friend of the fam is getting married in Medellín, Colombia so I’m going to that first, but the rest of my time I want to do some exploring in Bogotá and Cartagena. After that I’ll head to Ecuador for a tour of Quito and Cuenca, and end my trip in Panama, where I’d like to buy a hat of the same name. Just kidding… (well, maybe. I do like hats) I mainly want to check out the islands around the canal and relax until it’s time to head home.
I’ve been looking at photos and reading reviews online and it gets me super pumped about this trip when I think about all the things I’m going to see and the amazing food I’m going to eat! Yep. There’s nothing quite like knowing you have a fun adventure planned as motivation to keep working hard all day everyday for the past… um, forever.
I’m hoping to finish planning this trip over the next week or so and then tackle the whole Christmas shopping/baking/party planning/working overtime ordeal. Gah. Trying to think happy thoughts right now.
Do you have any travel plans coming up, either now, for the holidays or later? How’s life? Lemme know!
