There’s just something about new shoes (and boots in particular) that makes me happy. I know what you’re saying; Didn’t I just buy new ones not too long ago? Well, the answer would be yes, but I needed those sparkly ones for a fancy event. And I’ve worn them quite a bit. Also I just really like shoes. And I really needed these new ones too. I have a problem, okay?!
Right. Um, shoes. I’d been looking for brown boots to replace an old pair that had gone way beyond the “a little scuffed but adds to the worn in, laissez faire vibe” stage into the, “oh, you’re still wearing those old things” stage. Thanks a lot (no, really), my too honest friends.
Then I found these cute little off-white ones. I decided to go with them instead of the brown because they’re (a) different and (b) I love the laces. However, unlike brown they don’t go with most things. I’m okay with that though. I have other boots and I wanted to add these into the rotation when I’m feeling like something a little brighter and classier on my feet when it’s cold out. I’ve already worn them with a dress and tights, and leggings and a baggy sweater. They come up to about mid-calf on me so I think they don’t look as nice with jeans unless they’re rolled up. But I can live with that.
Kitty sussing out my purchase, as she does with most new things that I bring home. (She approves, of course. Also, I like the term, “sussing”. I think more people should drop it more often in everyday convo). One day I will strike up the courage to do a full on outfit post. One day. Until then you’ll just have to look at my shoes on the floor. 🙂
Other things that made me happy this week: good news at work, finding the perfect birthday present for my little Sis, eating amazing food at a new restaurant, and planning a Halloween outing with friends. I’ve almost figured out a costume. Almost.
