I don’t know about you guys, but I am really looking forward to this long weekend! I still have work to do, but it looks like it’s going to be cloudy or rain most of the time so I won’t feel so bad for sitting behind my computer indoors. I’ll be headed home to chill with my fam and some old highschool friends for part of it too. I also want to do a little reading in my downtime so I think I’m going to pick up a couple books on my way home from work tomorrow.
These are the books that have been on my list — you might notice they’re nothing to crazy or thought-provoking — I just want to read these to escape for a bit.
Adventure Time With Fionna and Cake by Natasha Allegri // I love Adventure Time and I loved the episode with Fionna and Cake (and Neil Patrick Harris) so I just ordered this on Amazon. I won’t have it for the weekend, but I will soon!
Lazy Days by Erlend Loe // I read Loe’s Doppler a while back and enjoyed the dark, strange humour surrounding a man who goes into the wilderness to bond with a moose (trust me, just read it). It looks like Lazy Days will follow suit, but in a more urban setting and with fewer moose.
The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson // I’m weird and buy books after I’ve seen the movie. It was a good movie though, and I like going back and revisiting the stories of Blomkvist and Salander and seeing what might have been left out on the big screen. I’d read the other two books on my last vacation and I don’t know if I can wait until I plan another big trip to read this.
IT by Alexa Chung // Looking for a little fashion inspiration from a style icon. Maybe I’ll find it here?
Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin // I’ve watched most of Game of Thrones already, and like The Girl Who Kicked… Stieg Larsson’s novel with a really long name, I want to go back and read it ALL. Yeah, I know. Weird.
Typography Sketchbooks by Steven Heller & Lita Talarico // Typography is cool. True story.
TGIF!
